The house was completely refurbished in 2015 and a lot of thought went into making the house as future proof as possible.

The house is as green as we could make it. Doubled glazing and insulation limit heat loss. The solar panels have been hugely successful. We get our electricity and gas from the same supplier and they pay us!
We can now get super fast broadband.
There is no water tank in the house. Because it is three stories high there is a water pressurisation unit.
Additional cabling was put in so that if the road is dug up cabling can be installed to the mooring.
There is a water tap and power point on each balcony, an electricity point for the front patio and a water tap and power points in the garage.
I go canoeing when the tide and wind allow, about 4 days a week. We built a special harbour for the canoe.
